Powder coating line configurator

Describe the parts you coat, the output you need and the hall you have. The configurator lays out the whole line on one cardan chain or power-and-free loop, from loading through spray or dip pretreatment, drying, the booth and the curing oven to unloading, checks it, and draws it in 3D. Download the model as STEP for your CAD system, or send the line to a quote.

Set the load on one hanger, the output, the process and the hall. The line is laid out, checked and drawn again as you change each value.

The 3D view needs WebGL and access to cdn.jsdelivr.net. The tables below still show the whole design.

Common questions

What do I need to enter?

What hangs on one hanger, with its size and the weight of the heaviest hanger, the parts per shift, the number of powder colours with the colour changes per shift, the metal and whether the parts are used indoors or outdoors, and the energy source for the ovens: natural gas, LPG, diesel or electric. Choose the pretreatment, booth, oven and conveyor in the form, or describe the line to the assistant. Add the hall's free length, width and clear height to check that the line fits.

Why do the colours change the line?

Every colour change leaves the conveyor running empty while the booth is cleaned. The configurator counts that time, picks cartridge recovery for one or two colours and a cyclone with quick colour change for more, and adds a second booth on rails when the colour changes many times a shift.

Why does the line get longer when I raise the output?

More parts per shift means a faster conveyor, and at a faster speed the dryer and the curing oven must be longer to keep each part inside for the same time. A U-turn oven folds that length back and saves floor space.

Spray or dip pretreatment?

Spray suits continuous lines and open shapes; dip reaches cavities the spray cannot. In a line, dip tanks take much more length, because the conveyor has to lift the parts over the rim of every tank.

How exact is the result?

It is a first sizing from the same rules our engineers use. The final design is set in the proposal, after we have seen your parts and your hall.

What can I do with the 3D model?

Turn it, view it from above or from the side, look inside the tunnels, and download it as a STEP file for your CAD system. Click a station in the table to find it in the model. Parts and hangers are not drawn.

Have the layout checked against your hall

Send the line with a sketch of the hall and photographs of the parts. We reply with a sized proposal, or with the reason the layout should change.
